The Diocese is looking to recruit a Pastoral Secretary in a part-time role (1.5 days per week) to work from Derby Church House.
This is a responsible post facilitating Pastoral Committee system of the diocese in its work of shaping parishes and MMAs for effective mission and engagement in the communities of Derbyshire. We are looking for someone who is:
- An effective communicator - well able to relate to a range of collaborators and stakeholders
- Methodical and well organised - able to oversee and manage processes that are complex and sometimes drawn out
- Energetic and highly motivated - able to order his/her own work and to think laterally and creatively
- A willing learner - able to grow into the legal and organisational culture of the Church of England, and especially the new opportunities for mission and engagement in recent legislation
The Pastoral Secretary will work within the new Directorate of Mission and Ministry and will be accountable to its Director. In recognition of the fact that this is a new Department (and that recruitment for the Director is currently under way), this appointment will initially be for a period of 12 months (ideally from 1st September) to allow some flexibility as the Department takes shape.

There is an immediate vacancy for an Alto,
and for another Soprano from September. The Choir has a busy
schedule and a growing reputation for high standards, both
locally and nationally, due in part to undertaking an Annual
Cathedral Weekend Residence at Winchester, Wells and York
since 2007. Future weekends are being negotiated with Durham
and Norwich.
