The Bishop's Bike Ride

Churches are often much-loved in their communities, not least because people gather in these sacred, holy spaces to nurture their faith. For many, churches have meaningful connections for them through weddings, Christenings or funerals, or because they use the church building for some other community function. Others love the local church simply for the architecture.

But churches, particularly the ancient ones, cost a lot to maintain and are expensive to develop for better use in their communities. Church congregations often fund this out of their own pockets or fundraising, which can be a heavy financial burden.
