The September Sponsored Bike Ride logoThey’ve done it!

This page is dedicated to the Bishop of Derby’s involvement in the sponsored bike ride in aid of the Derbyshire Churches & Chapels Preservation Trust. Read more about it.

On Saturday, September 8th 2007, Bishop Alastair and his wife Caroline took part in this annual event which attracts hundreds of cyclists every year to raise money for Derbyshire’s church buildings. Read more.

Although the bike ride is now over, it’s still not too late to sponsor the Bishop and Caroline if you want to.

Bishop Alastair and Caroline cyclingThe couple made good time along the route, and wish to thank all those who supported this event, both in sponsorship and in planning/attending the various activities along the way.

The bikes which the Bishop and Caroline used were donated by Derby’s Moore Large. These will go on sale soon on eBay to raise more money for the charity. As soon as this has been arranged, a link to the eBay bidding will be available from this page.
