Discovering Christianity

Welcome!
On
Sunday September 17th, the congregations of five churches in
Derbyshire said "hello again" to friends who haven't
been to church for a while. There are various reasons why people
stop going to church when once it played an important part
in their lives. Back to Church Sunday provided an opportunity
to return to church on a day when others were likely to be
doing the same.
Back to Church Sunday was first launched by the Church of
England in Manchester and was piloted in Derbyshire this year.
We hope that many more churches will be involved in 2007 and
beyond.
Participating churches had access to a variety of resources
to help them invite family and friends back to church. These
included invitations, and goodie bags containing brochures
featuring testimonies of people who had already come back to
church and bars of fair-trade chocolate. These were given to
people when they came into church. The five churches participating
in Back to Church Sunday in this county were:-
