Derby Cathedral

Derby Cathedral is a busy, urban cathedral serving the City and Diocese of Derby, the County of Derbyshire, and substantial Sunday congregations.

The Bishop of Derby seeks a gifted senior colleague as Canon for Liturgy. You will work collaboratively to extend the mission of the Cathedral through music and liturgy by:

  • enhancing a tradition of excellence in choral worship;
  • broadening our liturgical offer;
  • developing a Liturgical Plan;
  • supporting worship and liturgy in the Diocese.

If you have:

  • been in priest’s orders for at least six years;
  • a strong understanding of liturgy and the skills to translate this into imaginative and creative design and execution of services;
  • a love of church music and experience of working with church musicians;
  • experience of leading and managing people;
  • the zeal to serve in a small and cohesive cathedral team;
  • the ability to influence, encourage and support development of worship in the wider Diocese then you may be the person we are looking for.

St. Paul’s and St. James’ have a long history of Anglo-Catholic worship and are looking to appoint a priest of the Society of St. Wilfred and St. Hilda for these two thriving parishes, which are under the patronage of the Bishop of Ebbsfleet.

A lively parish in the town of Glossop on the edge of the Peak District, our vision is ‘to reach and transform our town with the love of Jesus’. Together our two churches make us the fourth largest parish in Derby Diocese. Whitfield Parish has a long evangelical tradition and we are part of the New Wine Network.

We are nine parishes in South Derbyshire and East Staffordshire seeking an Interim Minister (to be appointed for 2 years) to provide leadership and imagination as we seek God’s vision for our future.
