The Revd Phil Mann, Planting Curate at Holy Trinity Brompton, Diocese of London, will be licensed as Pioneer Minister of the Derby City Bishop's Mission Order, Diocese of Derby, on Tuesday 1st August in the Bishop's Chapel, Duffield, by the Bishop of Derby. Mr Mann will be based at St Werburgh's Church, Friar Gate, Derby. The primary focus will be on young people, including students and yound professionals.
The Revd Michael Bishop, Rector of the United Benefice of Boylestone, Church Broughton, Dalbury, Longford, Long Lane, Radbourne, Sutton-on-the-Hill and Trusley, Diocese of Derby, will retire with effect from 14th September 2017.
The Revd Brian Magorrian, Vicar of Walton, Diocese of Derby, will resign with effect from 21st May 2017.
Ms Hilary Darvill has been appointed Secretary to the Bishop of Repton, the Rt Revd Jan McFarlane. Ms Darvill will start work on Monday 27th February. It is anticipated that she will work Monday - Friday, 9 am - 1 pm. The Revd Canon Alan Harper, Priest-in-Charge of Kirk Langley and Mackworth All Saints and of Mugginton and Kedleston and Bishop's Officer for Prayer and Worship, Diocese of Derby, will retire with effect from 17 February. He will be appointed Canon Emeritus of Derby Cathedral in retirement.
Mr David Channon will be collated as a Lay Canon of Derby Cathedral on Sunday 11th September at 6 pm at a special Education Evensong at Derby Cathedral by the Bishop of Derby and installed by the Dean of Derby.
