January 2017 Appointments

The Revd Malcolm Ainscough, Rector of Hasland and Vicar of Temple Normanton, Diocese of Derby, will retire with effect from 5th June 2017. Mr Ainscough will continue to live in the Diocese after retirement.  

 

The Revd Mark Broomhead, Pioneer Minister to the Order of the Black Sheep and Priest-in-Charge of Chesterfield SS Augustine, Diocese of Derby, resigned as Priest-in-Charge of Chesterfield SS Augustine with effect from 15th December 2106. Mr Broomhead remains Pioneer Minister to the Order of the Black Sheep. 

 

After working for the Diocese for seven years, Mrs Maureen Cole, Diocesan Secretary, will be leaving to pursue other interests and opportunities with immediate effect. Canon Mark Titterton, Executive Chair of the DBF, would like to thank Maureen for her contribution and wishes her well for the future. 

 

The Revd Patrick Douglas, Pioneer Assistant Curate in the Walbrook Epiphany Team Ministry, Diocese of Derby, has been appointed Priest-In-Charge of Newhall and Pioneer Minister of Swadlincote Bishop's Mission Order in the same diocese. He will be licensed on Thursday 23rd February at 7.30 pm at St John’s Newhall by the Bishop of Repton assisted by the Archdeacon of Derby. 

 

The Revd Karen Hamblin, Priest-in-Charge of Brampton St Mark and Assistant Curate of Chesterfield St Mary and All Saints, Chesterfield Ss Augustine and Chesterfield Holy Trinity and Christ Church, and Area Dean of North East Derbyshire, has also been appointed an Honorary Canon of Derby Cathedral. She will be collated on Sunday 19th February at 6 pm at Derby Cathedral by the Bishop of Derby and installed by the Acting Dean of Derby.

 

The Revd John Hudghton, Team Rector in the Buxton and Burbage with King Sterndale Team Ministry, Diocese of Derby, has been appointed Vicar of Hayfield and Chinley with Buxworth. He will be instituted as Vicar on Wednesday 29th March at 7.30 pm at St Mathew’s Hayfield, by the Bishop of Derby and inducted by the Acting Archdeacon of Chesterfield. 

 

The Revd James Mackay, who holds the Bishop of Derby's Permission to Officiate has been appointed Priest-in-Charge (Rector Designate) of Old Dalby, Nether Broughton, long Clawson, Hose, Harby and Stathern and Deanery Mission and Outreach Enabler, Diocese of Leicester. Mr Mackay hopes to take up his new appointment after Easter. 

 

The Revd Louise Petheram, who holds the Bishop of Derby’s Permission to Officiate, has been appointed Interim Part-Time Priest-in-Charge of Youlgreave, Middleton, Stanton-in-Peak and Birchover, Diocese of Derby. Mrs Petheram hopes to take up her new appointment in the spring. 

 

The Revd Angela Plummer, Assistant Curate of Melbourne, Ticknall, Smisby and Stanton-by-Bridge, Diocese of Derby, has been appointed Priest-in-Charge of The Ascension, Kenton, Diocese of Newcastle. Mrs Plummer hopes to take up her new appointment in the spring. 

 

The Revd Peter Walley, Vicar of All Saints Mickleover and St John the Evangelist Mickleover, has been appointed an Honorary Canon of Derby Cathedral. He will be collated on Sunday 19th February at 6 pm at Derby Cathedral by the Bishop of Derby and installed by the Acting Dean of Derby.
