The Revd Becky Mathew, Team Vicar of Bicester with Bucknell, Caversfield and Launton, Diocese of Oxford, has been appointed Vicar of Allestree St Nicholas and Priest-in-Charge of Quarndon, Diocese of Derby. Mrs Mathew hopes to take up her new appointment in September.
The Revd David Owens, Assistant Curate of St Andrew’s Clubmoor, Diocese of Liverpool, has been appointed Assistant Curate (to be known as Associate Minister) and Director of Mission and Evangelism to the benefice of Brampton St Thomas, Diocese of Derby. Mr Owens hopes to take up his new appointment in the summer.
The Revd Michael Petitt, Vicar of Ilkeston St Mary, will retire with effect from 1st May 2017.
The Revd Paul Waters has been appointed Self-Supporting Assistant Curate (to be known as Associate Priest) of Spondon, Diocese of Derby. Mr Waters will be licensed on Sunday 5th March at 10 am at St Werburgh’s Spondon by the Bishop of Derby
The Revd Kath Wood resigned as Assistant Curate (known as Associate Priest) of Newhall, Diocese of Derby, on 4th March 2017. Mrs Wood now holds the Bishop of Derby’s permission to Officiate. Mrs Wood’s contact details remain the same.
It is with sadness that I inform you of the death of the Rt Revd Henry Richmond, Bishop of Repton from 1986 until 1998, on Thursday 16th March. There will be a service of thanksgiving on Friday 7th April at 12 noon at St Matthew’s Oxford which is open to all. We remember Bishop Henry with enormous affection and great appreciation.
