'Musicals' Flower Festivals, St Giles Parish Church, Great Longstone, 13 - 20 May

Open 10am - 6pm except Sunday 14 May 1pm - 6pm. Refreshments availale in the Village Hall. 

 

"The Apostles: Spreading the Good News" Flower Festival, St Helen's Etwall, 20 - 22 May

10am - 7pm, Sunday 12 noon - 7pm. Part of Etwall Welldressing celebrations. Refreshments available throughout. 

 

'Charades' Flower Festival, St Margaret's Church, Carsington, 20 - 24 May

Refreshments available.

 

Tissington Well Dressing, St Mary's Tissington, Starts 25 May

Six wells dressed in the village that purports to be 'The Home of Well Dressing' all within in 500 yards of each other. The wells are blessed on Ascension Day, Thursday 25 May 11am to 1pm. 

 

Wirksworth Well-Dressing Weekend, 27 - 28 May

Service of Blessing the Wells on Saturday 27 May in St Mary's Church at 10.45am followed by procession round town. 

 

'Our Childhood' Flower Festival, Church of the Good Shepherd, Wardlow, 27 May - 4 June

11am - 4.30pm each day. Delicious homemade refreshments served all day. 

17 May

Recitals at Eight, St John the Baptist Church, 17 May, 8pm

Eric Singleton - Unstone. Car Parking available on Church Street, video link used to enable view of organ console during performance. Light refreshments served afterwards.

 

20 May

Long Eaton Silver Prize Band, St Chad's Wilne, 20 May, 7.30pm

A locally well known traditional brass band. Admission: Members £6, Non-members £7.

 

Spring Plant Fair, St Giles Church Sandiacre, 20 May, 2pm - 4.30pm

The event takes place in and around the church hall. Major attractions are a classic vehicle display and music from the Long Eaton Silver Training Band. Stalls include plants, cakes and produce, books and jigsawa. Refreshments are available. there is also a Grand Prize Draw, Tombolas for adults and children and other games and attractions. Admission is 50p for adults and accompanied children are free. Disabled access and parking nearby.

Open Garden Afternoon, Convent of the Holy Name, 27 May 1.30pm - 4pm

Tea and scones. Books for sale. Bric- a- Brac. Plants for Sale. Free car parking. 

 14 June

Healing Service, Convent of the Holy Name, 14 June, 7.30pm

BBQ by Gary Dundas followed by entertainment by Johnny Victory taking us back to the war years. Admission to be confirmed.
