Hope in Word, Hope in Action FREE Lent booklet from Church Army

Church Army's Richard Chambers has compiled a new FREE resource for Lent 2008 - Hope in Word, Hope in Action. The booklet can be downloaded here or be obtained in hard copy from Church Army by emailing info@churcharmy.org.uk or calling 020 8309 3519. The resource focuses on 40 evangelists and their ministry and the Bible verses that inspire them, together with a reflection and prayer.

A Message from Bishop Humphrey

“Hope 08 is a movement growing rapidly in Churches throughout our land. Hope 08 aims to provide Churches of all shapes, sizes, denominations and traditions throughout the UK with new vision and resources to work together to transform their communities and witness to the Gospel through service and in partnership with one another and with partner organisations. The vision is all about witness through Word and Deed and partners include police forces, politicians, local authorities, schools, primary heath care trusts and many, many more, all committed to showing practical care in local communities.

“I have already been greatly struck by the range of ways in which Christians in and around Derbyshire – not least in the parishes and Mission and Ministry Areas of our diocese – are witnessing and serving for the sake of the Gospel so I know that this initiative will be encouraging to us all.

“I encourage you and your church to think prayerfully about this initiative and ask what help it might give you in your faithful witness.”
