City Chaplaincy
Serving the heart of our City

Derby City Centre Chaplaincy is a Christian organisation which provides pastoral support by building bridges of understanding between industry, faith, commerce and society. We began in February 2011 at an official event held in the Quad, with support from council, business, retail and church leaders.
We are involved in chaplaincy in retail, business, education, sport and entertainment sectors, and serve particularly, but not exclusively, in the Westfield, the Markets, St. Peter's Quarter and the Cathedral Quarter.
Our vision is: Together, as part of the Church, we want to express the love of Jesus in public, personal and prophetic ways through a team of chaplains, offering encouragement and support to all people in their workplaces.
The chaplains develop long-term relationships with management and employees, as well as being available, as and when the opportunities arise, to shoppers and others in the city centre. They offer an independent, impartial and confidential ear for those who want this support. This service is for people from all backgrounds, for those of all faiths or none.
The chaplains come from many churches in and around Derby and are grateful to the support of churches who provide prayer and finance, as well as the chaplains!
The Chaplaincy is based at St. Peter’s Centre, alongside St. Peter’s in the City, opposite BHS and next door to Ryans Bar!
