Mr David Channon, currently Head Teacher at St. Giles CE VA Primary School, Killamarsh, has been appointed Director of Education for the Diocese of Derby.  Mr Channon will take up his new post on 1st September, 2012.

 

The Revd Christine Rees, who holds the Bishop of Derby’s Permission to Officiate, has been appointed Portfolio Holder for Messy Church within the Diocese of Derby with immediate effect

 

 

Bishop Alastair has invited the Revd Peter Walley to take on the role of Area Vicar in MMA 40 with immediate effect

 

 

Bishop Alastair has invited the Revd Felicity Walters to take on the role of Area Vicar in MMA 26 with immediate effect.

January Clergy Moves

The Revd John Baines, Priest-in-Charge of New Mills, Diocese of Derby, has been appointed Vicar.  Mr Baines will be instituted and inducted on Sunday, 5th February at 6.30 pm at St George’s, New Mills, by the Archdeacon of Chesterfield.


Revd Dr Peter Bold is to take on the role of Area Vicar immediate effect.  This key role has evolved through much discussion. Essentially the Area Vicar is there to inspire trust and co-operation, nurturing MMA relationships so clergy and laity have a growing sense of being together in mission and sharing resources – a deeply collaborative role.
