Church Urban Fund (CUF)

Last Updated on Monday, 12 April 2010 01:35

This fund dates back from 1985 and the Faith in the City Report. Since its beginning millions of pounds worth of grants have been given to church-based community projects. The Fund supports projects which combat the causes or effects of poverty either in the ten per cent most deprived areas of the Country or in groups of people who may be at particular disadvantage.

After 25 years CUF now finds itself in a position of having to raise funds through individual, corporate or Diocesan financial sponsorship in order to continue giving support to projects. Therefore the Main Grant has been suspended for 2010 while reserves are built up, but the Mustard Seed Grants continue.

Mustard Seed grants are for a maximum of £5,000 and go towards funding new initiatives which are intended to develop into something bigger at a later date. They are also given for pilot projects or for new developments within existing projects.

For details on applying for a Mustard seed Grant go to http://www.cuf.org.uk/funding.aspx.

All CUF Applications have to go through a Diocesan Link Officer. To talk about your project and applying to CUF, please contact
