Lifelong Learning
Education for Ministry
EFM, (Education For Ministry) is well established
in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. It is an International Ecumenical
Christian Discipleship Course, which combines distance learning
with local seminar groups. EFM is valuable in developing individual
ministry and discipleship and most suitable for mature Christians
who are ready to explore their faith in depth. Over four years it
covers Old and New Testament study, Church History and Christian
Ethics as well as exploring vocation, spiritual nourishment and
ways of relating faith to life, all within the context of a supportive
learning community. Whatever you are doing for God you will be better
equipped to do it as a result of this course. For information about
your nearest group or local promotion events contact the Laity Development
Adviser, Andie Brown, on CDDM@derby.anglican.org
or on 01332 388671, fax 01332 292969.

Bishop Jonathan writes…..
"I know that a number of lay
people and clergy in this diocese have joined the EFM programme in recent years,
and have been greatly enriched in their understanding of the Bible and in their
discipleship. EFM can offer a great deal to those who wish to extend their learning
and grow in faith and I commend it wholeheartedly."
The Rt Rev'd Jonathan Bailey,
Bishop of Derby 1995-2005
