June 2017 Appointments
With the support of the Bishop of Derby, the Revd Ben Allison’s curacy in the North Wingfield Team Ministry has ceased with immediate effect. He is to have a period of reflection to discern the shape of his future ministry. During that time, he will continue to be a curate in the Diocese. Please pray for Ben and his family.
The Revd Fiona Crocker, Assistant Curate of Brailsford with Shirley, Osmaston with Edlaston and Yeaveley, Diocese of Derby, has been appointed Vicar of Cam with Stinchombe, Diocese of Gloucester. Mrs Crocker will be licensed to her new post on 8th October.
The Revd Carollyn McDonald, Assistant Curate of Ashbourne with Mapleton and Ashbourne St John, Clifton and Norbury with Snelston, Diocese of Derby, has been appointed Priest -in-Charge of Fenny Bentley, Thorpe, Tissington, Parwich and Alsop - en -le - Dale and Assistant Curate (to be known as Associate Priest) of Ashbourne with Mapleton and Ashbourne St John, Clifton and Norbury with Snelston, in the same Diocese. Ms McDonald hopes to take up her new appointment in the autumn.
The Revd Canon Michael Mitton will retire as Fresh Expressions Officer for the Diocese of Derby with effect from 1st October 2017. Canon Mitton will remain as Priest-in-Charge of Derby St Paul.
Appointment of Lay Canons
Mrs Christine Holmes-Elener, Lay Chair in the North East Derbyshire Deanery, has been appointed a Lay Canon of Derby Cathedral.
Mrs Sue Whyld, Headteacher of William Gilbert Endowed CofE Primary School, has been appointed a Lay Canon of Derby Cathedral.
Mrs Holmes-Elener and Mrs Whyld will be collected and installed on Sunday 15th October at 6pm at Derby Cathedral by the Bishop of Derby.
