Thy Kingdom Come: Praying for Mission

Thy Kingdom Come is a movement of prayer, begun by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York in 2016.

It calls people to a focused time of prayer between the festivals of AThy Kingdom Come Finalscension and Pentecost (May 31st to June 9th 2019), for people to hear and respond to the Good News of Jesus Christ.

This launch workshop shows you the resources and information for this year’s event and describes how you and your church can get involved.

These sessions are open to all.

 

Leading Intercessions

A short, practical session on how to plan and write intercessions, covering what to include, what to avoid and how to deliver them. The session will include the opportunity to write some intercessions together.

These sessions are open to all.

 

Lent Quiet Morning

A morning to pray and reflect together as Lent begins.

This session is open to all.

 

Prayer Course

Sat 09 Mar- Sat 06 Apr 09.30am-12.30pm, St Helen’s, Darley Dale - BOOK NOW!

Five-week course exploring different areas of prayer (e.g. prayer in the Bible and through history, the Lord’s Prayer, prayer as mission, contemplation, sacramental prayer, prayer with scripture, Lectio Divina, centering prayer, the Jesus Prayer, praying with creation). Each session will begin with a shared breakfast and end with a time of worship.

These sessions are open to all. Booking is essential to plan catering.

 

Introduction to Church, Spirituality & Dementia

A short presentation outlining some basic facts about dementia; how to make
your church more dementia-friendly and some hints and tips when carrying
out a pastoral visit.
